Warcraft Series: The Last Guardian by Jeff Grubb

I started with Rise of the Horde and this would have been book three of the list I found, but Tides of Darkness would have cost me $50-$80 and I am not willing to spend that much on a book that isn’t a first edition or collectors item. Rise of the Horde is the story based in Draenor and this book is based in Azeroth.

This book goes into lineage and history of conflict. There were blindsides, moments of disappointment and I even had a few laughs here and there. It focused a lot on the Alliance faction and their perception of the orcs. I learned a lot about Medivh, the last Guardian of Tirisfal. This human is an intricate character in World of Warcraft lore and I am excited to learn more and more about him.

The day I started this book I went and had lunch with a friend. Afterwards we were walking around and I noticed some Funko’s. Warcraft Funkos are kind of hard to find when you have the demand for Disney, Marvel, and Harry Potter memorabilia. Then I stumbled on these gems! Orgrim was in Rise of the Horde and then the other three, Lothar, King Llane, and Garona were in this book!

Nostalgia

This book mentioned Karazhan, which was my first raid I ever experienced when I first played World of Warcraft. I read names in this book that reminded me of in-game content and characters. I think that’s why I love and appreciated the lore of World of Warcraft.
